Amen- AGUILAR- CD- 1996/2000- AMCD 08000201- 150 grn
In 1996 Manfred Ehlert and Marc Storace released the pop-rock album AGUILAR as a two-man team. It is influenced by Storace's Krokus Tube story and a lot more rock than the previous album Amen: pop-rock from two hands and one voice. The track "The Magic of K-1", which was produced for the world champion Andy Hug, who had become a samurai in Japan and died far too early in 2000, became the K-1 battle anthem, which is still more diverse in training to this day Sportsman is used. Special bonus track "Make My Day II" with Glenn Hughes, whose vocals were recorded in 1989 for the 1994 album Amen and re-staged by Manfred Ehlert with new arrangements in halftime tempo. Manfred Ehlert recorded the instruments at home. AGUILAR was mixed and produced in 1995/96 by Manfred Ehlert and Donald W. Richards in his Nighttower Studios at the foot of Mount Pilatus near Lucerne.
PERSONNEL: Marc Storace, Glenn Hughes - vocals; Manfred Ehlert -all instruments and programming.
Anyone who knows "The Voice Of Rock" Glenn Hughes and Krokus Tube Marc Storace may have heard of this, but most people will be unfamiliar with it. AMEN is a studio project by the Swiss Manfred Ehlert, who recorded a bombast rock record with the two singers that also contains pop elements. Anyone who knows the first Phenomena album can imagine it in a “light” version. The songs are not as strong as those from Phenomena, but the quality is as good. The keyboards dominate and Glenn Hughes of course cuts a much better figure than Storace. Marc Storace is a good singer, but when it gets poppy... He can sing melodically, but he is of course inferior vocally and expressively to the over-singer Glenn Hughes. What remains is a collector's rarity that should be of particular concern to fans of Hughes and Storace. Hard to get.
