A DIFFERENT BEAT is the twelfth solo studio album by Irish guitarist Gary Moore, released in 1999. Surrender is the only real standout track, which shows glimpses of Moore's brilliance as a guitar player. Beyond that, it's mostly a mediocre album, with some cheap beats, some of which are catchy enough, and his singing so it's ok. Still, quite a disappointment as a whole.

This album along with the Dark Days In Paradise album were a huge change in direction for Gary Moore. Although much more laid back and soulful they still feature some superb guitar work and some of Gary's best ever vocals! Highly recommended!
