Glenn Hughes & The Bobaloos- THE BOBALOOS- CD- 1983/2000- GHCD 10000203- 150 grn
The original band was formed in Atlanta, GA in 1979. Originally named Hurricane, in 1987 they changed their name to The Bobaloos, playing clubs in the Southeast building their fan support. Since then, they have headlined in 1,000 seat halls and have opened for 38 Special, Gregg Allman, Scorpions, Johnny Winter, Molly Hatchet, Robin Trower and many others. The Bobaloos are some of the most diverse, accomplished, hard rocking musicians who came together in a one time only compilation. Eleven songs of energetic rock and blues. Every one a tribute to the unwavering belief that the music is the only thing that matters along with love and truth. It's re-release 2000. This is high-energy rock and roll at it's best. Vocalist Glenn Hughes sings lead on most of the songs and performs an exhilarating feat. Franky Day wrote, produced and played guitar on the record and brought in his brothers Marty Fab, Chis Lewis, Boonie Maroonie and David Lasserre of Hurricane. To complete the high energy sound, Bobby Mobley, Michael Bastedo, TV Strain, Bobby Williams, Robin Floyd, Christie Vaughn, Tony Vaughn and Billy Anderson. A highlight of the album is the vocals of Glenn Hughes, Billy Powell on piano, Gregg Allman on organ, Leon Wilkeson on bass, Howard Leese on strings and piano. Hear it to believe it! The album was mixed by heavyweights Brendan O'Brian, Rodney Mills and Jerry Ragavoy, who wrote ''Piece Of My Heart'' for Janis Joplin and ''Time Is On My Side'' for The Rolling Stones.
