THE STUDIO ALBUMS 1972-1979 is a compilation album by the American band Eagles released in March 12, 2013. This limited edition set contains the Californian rock band’s six albums from the classic seventies era before their infamous “14-year vacation” (after which they returned with Hell Freezes Over). Included here are Eagles, Deperado, On The Border, One Of These Nights, Hotel California, and The Long Run. The CDs come in the usual straightforward card sleeves with vinyl replica artwork. No gatefolds, inner sleeves or booklet(s) with this set. The clam-shell style box is quite sturdy. The Eagles’ warm brand of country flavored, harmony-heavy rock absolutely dominated the ’70s Southern California rock scene and music in general. At the peak of their popularity they were omnipresent, delivering three consecutive #1 albums and six genre defining albums total in the decade alone. They remain one of the biggest and most influential acts of all-time, earning a well deserved induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1998. Rising from the scene and sound of idyllic 1970's California, Eagles delivered six spectacular albums between 1972 and 1979 - each yielding instant classics. This six disc Limited Edition box tells the Eagles' legendary story.

In 2005, Warner/Rhino released a limited-edition box containing all the albums from the Eagles, including their double-live and a bonus disc of their seasonal single ''Please Come Home For Christmas." In 2013, the label put out the THE STUDIO ALBUMS 1972-1979 box, which contains everything in the previous box minus the live and bonus disc. Nice box set containing all Warner studio albums of the band between 1972 and 1979 (i.e. the ones until the first split of the group and before the reunion after Hell Freezes Over). The Eagles are not only representative for the immense success of the 1970s California or Westcoast sound (after all, the Eagles around Glen Frey and Don Henley have sold more than 120 million albums worldwide), but are still a constant in the music business. The black, sturdy box contains all six albums from the Eagles. So a lot of classic songs like ''Take It Easy'', ''Life In The Fast Lane'', ''Lyin' Eyes'', ''Take It To The Limit'', ''Already Gone'' or ''Hotel California'' which are still in heavy rotation on radio stations all over the world. They have had five US #1 singles, won 6 Grammys and played countless sold out tours around the globe. The Eagles forever changed country and rock, but just think of what they did as being great American music. It’s amazing how one band could take all those influences (country and rock, of course, but also soul, R&B and folk) and still sound so distinctive…They started out in the age of the sensitive singer-songwriter, and their music was as smart and sensitive as anyone’s, but when they called upon it, they also had the power of a great rock & roll band.
Each Disc Comes In A Individual Mini-LP Cardboard Sleeve And All Items Housed In A Clamshell Box With Hype Sticker On Front Cover.
