2011 two CD live set from the reformed Irish rockers. On the 22nd of January, 2011, Thin Lizzy performed at the Hammersmith Apollo, a major London landmark within the entertainment industry. Featuring the best of Thin Lizzy's performances, this live recording is presented in exclusive packaging with bespoke artwork, perfectly reflecting the passion and dedication exuded by the band both on and off stage.

There are some old rock bands which fortunately for their fans have reunited in the near past, in order to create new music or simply give concerts with good old memories. Thin Lizzy, mainly due to the initiative of guitar player Scott Gorhan, created its latest incarnation in 2009 and since then they have been touring, sometimes as supporting act, but principally as the main act. In 2011 they did a very good concert in London, which was recorded and later released as a two-CD live album. Simply entitled LIVE IN LONDON 2011, it offers nineteen songs divided in two discs, making almost two hours of pure Thin Lizzy music, in which we will listen to pieces taken from their long back catalogue. We know this band has suffered different line-up changes, but they have always managed to keep creating, or at least performing, classic rock of high quality. This time is not an exception, since this concert was well performed. Besides the obvious reference to the guitars (Gorhan, Campbell and sometimes Warwick) would like to highlight Marco Mendoza’s bass playing, because one can easily listen to his notes and lines, which give the music a wonderful base, and always maintains the structure and rhythm in its best shape. Another thing, is that in this couple of hours the music never slows down, it was a show full of energy, in which band and crowd ended up happy and creating a brotherhood. The clearest example of that, is the performance of “Whiskey In The Jar”, one of their better known songs, in which Warwick invites the people to sing with him; we can evidently listen to both parts enthusiasm, which at the same infects the listener. Some of the tracks we will find here, just to name a few, are “Jailbreak”, “Dancing In The Moonlight”, “Angel Of Death”, “Still In Love With You”, “Cowboy Song”, “The Boys Are Back In Town” and “Black Rose”, all of them well performed. So if you are a long-time fan of Thin Lizzy, then you must have this live album; if you are fan of classic rock, you could also try it, but if you are not really into it, then you will enjoy only some tracks, so better let it to the true fans.
