LIVE FLAMES is the first live album by English blues guitarist Snowy White and his band, The White Flames. It contains 12 songs, recorded on the 2006 White Flames UK tour. LIVE FLAMES released in October 8, 2007. English guitarist Snowy White (born Terence Charles White) turned to music aged 11, influenced by Buddy Guy and B.B. King. He affirmed his Blues style through many groups during the 70s, as well as becoming a recognized sessionman for Al Stewart, Cliff Richard and Peter Green. He was consecrated by becoming the second guitarist of Pink Floyd, asserting the sound of the group on the promotional tours of Animals and The Wall. More recently, he was a full member of the Roger Waters Band. After a period with Thin Lizzy, Snowy formed his own Blues band and released many successful albums, most notably with his hit ''Bird Of Paradise''. In October 2008, Snowy founded The Snowy White Blues Project and the band recorded their debut album, featuring Matt Taylor (guitar and vocals), Ruud Weber (bass and vocals) and Juan Van Emmerloot (drums). Among the tracks appearing on LIVE FLAMES, there are mainly compositions by Snowy White and his musicians, as well as ''Long Gray Mare'' by Peter Green originally featured on Fleetwood Mac's debut album in 1967.

The band cuts loose more so than on the studio recordings, and showed just what an absolutely smoking band that they are. Snowy plays with more feel and soul than the other British greats like Clapton and Green. And yes, he should be mentioned in the same breath with them. But you know what? They didnt play with a backing band of the caliber of the White Flames! Snowy's vocal style may not be everyone's cup of tea, if thats the case enjoy his fine guitar work with his other band, Snowy White's Blues Agency, where he is not performing the duties of lead vocals. Snowy has quite a history, from recording with Peter Green and touring with Pink Floyd, to playing with Thin Lizzy. Roger Waters has claimed he will not go on tour without Snowy White on guitar duties, and his countless tours with Pink Floyd and Roger Waters solo touring showcase the amazing versatility of his guitar playing. This album, recorded live during a concert in the United Kingdom in 2006, is presented to us in 2007 for our greatest pleasure. As usual, Snowy White rolls up his fluid or forceful solos around a very elaborate rhythm. Sometimes tinged with jazz, the blues of the White Flames also takes on Floydian colors and intonations à la Peter Green, one of whose titles is also reproduced here "Long Gray Mare". The pianist Max Middleton, who played in the Jeff Beck Group among others, intervenes warmly in several titles "Wintersong" or "Whiteflames Blues". Certain compositions allow the guitarist to deliver perfectly mastered choruses, all in delicacy, but which sometimes get carried away in sharp solos "A Miracle I Need" or "American Dream". The set is very good and with top sound, Snowy White and his band take us for more than 70 minutes in an original and captivating blues-rock.
