This is an extraordinairy TV Broadcast show, recorded live in 1992 at the Sweetwater Festival, Mill Valley, California, with various guests. Hooker is in good for sharing jokes and generally having a great time, and gets up to dance as the show reaches its climax with all the guests appearing on stage. In 1992, BBC Television shot a documentary at the club featuring Bonnie Raitt, John Lee Hooker and Ry Cooder. That same year, Hot Tuna recorded two live albums at the Sweetwater. Since then, dozens of bands have recorded their own "Live At The Sweetwater" performances. Among John Lee’s numerous albums, these live performances are one of the documents of John Lee Hooker's career. His extraordinary charm to get the audience with just his voice and guitar makes these recordings to a monument of any fan of the Blues. In 1992, Hooker at 71 years old, won a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Recording and was inducted into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall Of Fame. The Sweetwater in Mill Valley, California, is a tiny but legendary venue that has seen a myriad of great artists perform on its stage. In 1992 the club was the subject of a BBC documentary during a festival featuring Ry Cooder, Bonnie Raitt and John Lee Hooker among others. It is precisely the blues wizard who is the protagonist of this CD obtained from those recordings: Hooker, then seventy-one years old, reviews immortal classics such as ''Crawling King Snake'', ''I'm In Mood For Love'' and ''Boogie Chillun'' in company of the other guests on the bill. Not only Cooder and Raitt, but also John Hammond, Robert Cray, Johnny Johnson, Charlie Musselwhite, Booker T. Jones and Randy California (the last two in the Hendrixian ''Red House'' which closes the set).
Includes two bonus tracks recorded in Atlantic City in 1989.
