Compilation of tracks that Marc Bolan recorded just months before his death in September of 1977. Most of these tracks were recorded at AIR Studios Oxford Street location with the addition of four tracks recorded at Decibel Studios in Stamford Hill in April 1977. For the first time, we are able to enjoy and understand more fully in context the direction in which Marc Bolan's music may have been heading as he approached his thirties. Seven of the twelve songs on this CD were not released during Bolan's lifetime. Features his final single 'Celebrate Summer' as well as 'Mellow Love', 'Write Me A Song', 'Hot George', 'Shy Boy' and more. A fantastic album, with some excellent insights into where Marc was taking the T.Rex sound. An absolute must for fans. Some of these tracks (plus more besides) appeared on a vinyl album, on the Marc On Wax label, in the '80s, called "Billy Super Duper", if with a little more (some may say too much!) production than the "Billy" tracks on this CD. There have also been releases of some of these songs on the Unchained series. It's one marvellous collection and just goes to show how well Marc had turned the corner, after a couple of years of being so prematurely written off. A must for all fans of Marc and his music and one in the eye for those cynical critics, who seemes to revel in slating Marc and underplaying his influence on those bands that followed on (how wrong they are).
