Historic 8-track live set from Georgia in August 1978 by the surviving members, less than a year after the plane crash. After the air tragedy of October 1977, the chances of the Skynyrds meeting seemed rather rare. However, Charlie Daniels fueled the hopes of the fans in January 1979, announcing “Lynyrd Skynyrd is back! “ from the stage of his 5th Volunteer Jam at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium (here more details about all festival editions). To prepare for that event, surviving members began rehearsing since late 1978 at Studio One in Doraville. When word spread that the veterans had gathered together with the instruments, there were nights of long jams with several and emblazoned members added, all determined to help the group in the delicate recovery operation, physical and psychological. The jams came out so well that someone decided to record them, and some of them were even broadcast from some local radio stations.

After being bootlegated on CD, those recordings are now released for the first time in vinyl, although with a reduced playlist (the CD also collected excerpts from the performance mentioned in Volunteer Jam). It includes only one piece of the band, the beautiful “Call Me The Breeze”, as well as covers of other bands, among which at least mention the ironic version of “Cocaine” and a classicist of southern rock such as “ Jitterbug”, by the giant Charlie Daniels, also widely present at the sessions. The audio is of excellent quality and the tracklist is embellished with comments by Gary Rossington between songs, punctual in recalling the interventions of the numerous guests, including, among others, members of Allman Brothers Band, Wet Willie, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Outlaws, Charlie Daniels Band: practically the gotha of seventy southern rock.
