PARIS is a live album by the English rock band Supertramp, released in 1980. It was recorded on Supertramp's Breakfast In America Tour in Paris, France, with most of the tracks taken from a 29 November 1979 show at the Pavillon de Paris, a venue which was once a slaughterhouse. The album was originally going to be called Roadworks.
PERSONNEL: Rick Davies – lead and backing vocals, acoustic and Wurlitzer pianos, Hammond Organ, ARP Omni 2 Elka and Oberheim synthesizers, Hohner Clavinet, harmonica, tambourine; Roger Hodgson – lead and backing vocals, acoustic and electric guitars, pianos, synthesizers, bells; John Helliwell – saxophones, clarinet, synthesizers, organ, percussion, backing vocals, spoken intros; Dougie Thomson – bass guitars, backing vocals, organ, additional synthesizer; Bob Siebenberg (as Bob C. Benberg) – drums, percussion, backing vocals.
PARIS was recorded in the Pavillon de Paris, a former slaughterhouse and at the time the largest concert hall in the French capital. Around 8,000 people attended the Supertramp concerts on each of the four evenings from November 29th to December 1st. Supertramp's classic "Breakfast In America" was the best-selling album in the world that year. Immediately after the release, Supertramp went on a ten-month world tour. They played 108 concerts with the classic line-up.
