This ballad was written and recorded by Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler as the theme song for the Japanese live-action movie Space Battleship Yamato. It was billed as Tyler's first solo project. Tyler wrote the ballad after studying a translated script and the video materials for the movie's final scene. The song expresses the concept of wanting to protect a loved one.
