FEEL THE NOIZE SLADE REMASTERED Series.
THE AMAZING KAMIKAZE SYNDROME is the eleventh studio album by the British rock group Slade. It was released on 3 December 1983. The album was produced largely by bassist Jim Lea. The two UK Top 10 singles released from the album, "My Oh My" and "Run Runaway", were produced by John Punter. In 1984, the album was re-packaged and released as KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MY POWER SUPPLY by CBS Associated records in the United States and Canada. Digitally remastered and expanded edition of Slade's 1983 album featuring six bonus tracks including remixes and non-album B-sides. Following Slade's legendary performance at the 1980 Reading Festival, the group's career was back on solid ground in terms of media interest, sold-out shows and a major label deal with RCA. All they needed now was a smash hit single and Noddy Holder and Jim Lea duly provided a pair; the huge ballad ''My Oh My'' and the Celtic-flavored rock jig, ''Run Runaway''. Between the two singles, in December 1983, the album THE AMAZING KAMIKAZE SYNDROME appeared. It was an impressive display of pumped-up, hi-tech Rock-Pop and was a huge success across Europe, especially Scandinavia. When repackaged and renamed KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MY POWER SUPPLY, the album also made the Top 40 in the USA, setting Slade up for a fresh assault on the American market.
PERSONNEL: Noddy Holder - lead vocals, rhythm guitar; Dave Hill - lead guitar, backing vocals; Jim Lea - bass, keyboards, guitars, backing vocals, lead vocal on verses, producer; Don Powell - drums, percussion, gongs; Andy Dummit - saxophone; Pete Drummond - announcements.
An early-'80s album that managed to climb into the Top 40, thanks to the success of Quiet Riot's versions of "Cum On Feel The Noize" and "Mama Weer All Crazee Now." On KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MY POWER SUPPLY, Slade showed that they were still the masters of loud, trashy hard rock. This record hit like a ton of bricks! Slade were back! where the 'ell 'ad they bin? Certainly not on the US charts. ''Run Runaway'' was a revelation, Slade still had the chops, the tunes and once again, the hits! Never mind that this was the American version of a U.K. album, with a few rearrangements of tracks. We never heard that one stateside anyway. This album smokes from 1st to last. Ready To Explode indeed!
