CHROME, SMOKE & BBQ is a 4-CD box set by American rock band ZZ Top. Released in 2003, it is a compilation album of material from the band's tenures with London Records and Warner Bros. Records, recorded from 1967 to 1992. US exclusive Limited Edition FOUR CD box set which is packed with eighty remastered classics tracks from across fourteen albums released from 1968-1992 including all the hits, album cuts and rarities. Complete with the 88 page book featuring extensive linernotes, rare photos & memorabilia from the band's own archives, all discs look barely played inside individual jewel cases housed together within the 'corrugated roof' BBQ Shack-inspired box which builds into a shrine to the Texas heroes with the additional flip-book showing the band's signature moves and cardstock paper cut-outs with all the accessories, so you can act out the perfect BBQ!

This collection focuses on ZZ Top's 20's years with Warner Brothers, along with such rarities as 3 tracks from Billy Gibbons' first band, The Moving Sidewalks. From the raw, smokey blues of the early days to the signature hits of the '80s and '90s, this set has it all. Also included is a book containing early shots of Billy Gibbons (without the beard!), a history of the band by Tom Vickers, and track-by-track notes by Gibbons, Hill, and Beard, as told to Bob Merlis. In 1970, Billy Gibbons of The Moving Sidewalks joined forces with Dusty Hill and Frank Beard of rival Houston band American Blues, and ZZ Top were born. After two albums of playful, straight-ahead blues-rock, they unleashed a potent sound of their own with 1973's Tres Hombres and its heavy-riffing hit "La Grange." After three more albums and a brief hiatus, they turned in 1979's Deguello, which packed sleek grooves into wise-ass classics like "Cheap Sunglasses" and "A Fool For Your Stockings." In the '80s ZZ Top's hot rod truly took off. With a synthed up sound and some of the most memorable videos of the era, the bearded band drag-raced up the charts with no-filler albums like Eliminator (1983) and Afterburner (1985), and sizzling singles like "Gimme All Your Lovin'" and "Legs." After recording and touring throughout the '90s, ZZ Top are still tearing it up Texas-style. The fall 2003 release of Mescalero, their 15th album, coincides with the arrival of this long-awaited boxed tribute to the biggest "Little Ol' Band" in the land. ZZ TOP's CHROME, SMOKE & BBQ hails from 2003 and is a U.S. 4-disc set from "That Little Ol' Band From Texas" that serves up a heaping portion of hell-raisin' hits and raucous rarities.
