It’s been over seven years now since died one of Ireland’s finest guitarists – Gary Moore, and this 2018 year has comes a tribute album from his friends, peers and family. Bob Daisley ‘'and friends'’ have managed to come up with a selection that should please many while still leaving them wanting more. From Thin Lizzy to Colosseum II, together with his solo hits, Gary influenced a whole generation of guitar players. This album comes from bassist/producer Bob Daisley who had played with Gary since the 1980’s, and was the first to suggest to Gary Moore that he should make a blues album – the rest, as they say is history. Still Got The Blues was an immense hit, followed by a series of classic modern blues albums. Bob, also known for his contributions to Rainbow and Ozzy Osbourne, was the driving force behind MOORE BLUES FOR GARY. In putting together the album Daisley asked many members of the Gary Moore family tree, and some other great players, to contribute to the project. The album though is certainly not a ‘'by numbers'’ effort. Bob Daisley didn’t set out to recreate anything that Gary had done, or to compete in any way, these arrangements and performances represent a ‘'hats off’' to Gary and nothing more. Long live the memory of Robert William Gary Moore. Album was released on 26th October 2018.

The MOORE BLUES FOR GARY is dedicated to the soul of eternal guitar hero who died on 6th February 2011 at the age of 58. The friends who walked with Gary Moore and the musicians who honored him have come together to pay their respects and love He presents the world with a tribute album filled with the best of the best. In response to its popularity and influence, the album features a number of top musicians. What you get of course is an echo of those wonderful songs, though the arrangements do let the songs breathe rather and whilst the guitar-led tracks like ‘'Still Got The Blues For You'’ and ‘'Texas Strut'’ unmistakably recycle Moore’s distinctive guitar lines, tracks like ‘'Empty Rooms'’ are far from literal. It all goes to make a nice mix and a rather fitting tribute t the great man. Highlights have to be the team-up of Danny Bowes and John Sykes on '‘Still Got The Blues For You'', and Ricky Warwick and Steve Morse on ‘'Parisienne Walkways/’ both of which are real magic. The album also saw appearances by Gary’s longtime sidekicks, Neil Carter, Don Airey and Glenn Hughes. Gary’s sons Jack and Gus are also involved, playing guitar and singing on ‘'This One’s For You’', showing that the ‘'Blood Of Emeralds'’ still runs their veins. The fact that many musicians who had a direct connection with Gary are on board also makes this album a "legitimate''. The album is a tribute to the "Gary's". It was Bob who encouraged Gary, who was going down the rock route, to make a blues album. Blues For Greeny and the posthumously released Blues For Jimi, a tribute albums to some of the greatest guitarists of all time. But now this album dedicated to Gary Moore. Seven years after his death, we still hold the blues for him.
