In December 1993, The Jeff Healey Band returned home to Toronto to perform several nights at the Horseshoe Tavern. This show was near the end of the tour to support the band's most recent release Feel This. LIVE AT THE LEGENDARY HORSESHOE TAVERN 1993 features The Jeff Healey Band backed up by two backup singers and a keyboard player blazing through high energy tracks "See The Light", "Roadhouse Blues" and the opener "Baby's Lookin' Hot". Included in the middle of the set is a three song acoustic set, featuring "That's What They Say", "You're Coming Home" and "Angel Eyes". Indeed almost seven years after the blind musician’s death at 41, it’s unlikely that even Healey’s most ardent fans have yet to appreciate the full extent of his artistry. Adding a bit more perspective to the overall picture, so to speak, LIVE AT THE LEGENDARY HORSESHOE TAVERN 1993 finds The Jeff Healey Band delivering a potent set heavy on electric blues and juke-joint-friendly rock ‘n’ roll. While with a stunning pair of love songs Healey summons a warm and tender respite amid the otherwise raucous selections, with scorching versions of The Doors’ “Roadhouse Blues,” The Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” and B. B. King’s “The Thrill is Gone” he brings the band to maximum boil.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Eagle Rock Entertainment and Conveyor Canada released a recording of LIVE AT THE LEGENDARY HORSESHOE TAVERN 1993 from iconic Canadian jazz and blues group The Jeff Healey Band on October 7, 2014. In addition, it was announced that Healey will be inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame, a permanent tribute to the artist’s 20 years of accomplishments. The previously unreleased album features a well-rounded combination of the band’s most-loved hits and staple covers, making this revival of a legend a must-have for dedicated fans. LIVE AT THE LEGENDARY HORSESHOE TAVERN 1993 showcases Jeff Healey’s renaissance style, known to bridge multiple genres creating a transcending, unique sound. Vivacious favourites such as “Baby’s Lookin’ Hot” and acoustic classics like “That’s What They Say,” “You’re Coming Home,” and “Angel Eyes” contribute to a soulful collection by this masterful musician. An icon in his own right, Healey’s child-hood battle with cancer left him without sight, possibly enhancing his other senses, contributing to his superb musical skills as singer, guitar and trumpet player. His signature style of playing the lap pedal-steel style guitar flat on his thighs gained him early recognition. As a new group in 1988, the Jeff Healey Band received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Instrumental Performance for their song “Hideaway” off the album See The Light. In 1990, they won a Juno Award for Canadian Entertainer Of The Year. In four short years, they produced 10 charting singles in Canada off their albums Hell To Pay and Feel This. In 2002, Healey formed the Jazz Wizards who he would record with for six years. In 2004, he produced Adventures In Jazzland on his own label, Healey-O-Phonic, exploring the genre of 20s’ & 30s’ American Jazz which he loved and heavily integrated into the band’s sound. After his death in 2008, Healey’s last album Mess Of Blues won the 8th annual Independent Music Award For Best Blues Album and he was inducted into the Terry Fox Hall Of Fame, recognizing outstanding Canadians with physical disabilities.
