In a hypothetical list of forgotten and undervalued guitarists, Bugs Henderson would be at the top. Admired by his colleagues and a benchmark for the new generations of blues. With more than fifty years of musical career, he toured with BB King, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Muddy Waters among many others. Bugs Henderson was born in 1943 in Palm Springs, California, but at a very young age he had to move to Tyler, Texas. At the age of six, he was given his first guitar for Christmas, a Montgomery Ward Airline. He formed his first band, The Sensors, at the age of 16 and later, together with his friend Ronnie Weiss, joined Mouse & The Traps with whom he had his first hit, "Public Execution", on local radio. In 1971 he participates in the record John Nitzinger. His mentor Freddie King advises him to form his own band publishing his first album in 1978, "At last" which would be followed by more than a dozen albums throughout his career. In 2012 he was diagnosed with liver cancer and his friends organized a festival to raise funds to pay for the treatment, but unfortunately four days later he died at 68 years of age. This album is a compilation of Bugs Henderson jams with some of the guitarists with whom he coincided on stage in the period from 1976 to 1978. The first song, "Boogie on Down", we have him playing together with his friend and mentor Freddie King at the Texas Opry House in Houston in 1976. He continues with the emblematic "Green Onions" with Roy Buchanan at the Pather Hall in Fort Worth in 1978. Guaranteed guitar duel. The main course comes with Johnny Winter at the Palladium in Dallas, playing two songs, "Talk to Your Daughter" and "It's my Onw Faoult, Baby". Spectacular. We finished with the brown beast, Ted Nugent, at the Rox in Lubbock in 1980 with three more jams: "Don't Want No Woman", "Bluetex" and "Stranglehold". Brutal. If you like blues you should not miss it. If you like rock, neither.
