HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES is the self-titled debut studio album by American rock supergroup Hollywood Vampires, formed in 2015 by Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and Joe Perry to honor the music of the rock stars who died from excess in the 1970s. Released on 11th September 2015 for Republic Records, the album features guest appearances by Paul McCartney, Robby Krieger, Orianthi, Dave Grohl, Christopher Lee, Slash, Brian Johnson, Joe Walsh, Perry Farrell, and Zak Starkey amongst others. In 1969, the Hollywood Vampires were born in an upstairs bar in LA. It was a gathering place for the rock stars living in or passing through L.A. Alice Cooper and his good friend Johnny Depp got together and decided the spirit of the Hollywood Vampires should be reborn. The Hollywood Vampires live again with the release of the HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES album. Alice and Johnny were joined by Joe Perry and the recording began. For the next two years, Alice, Joe and Johnny, joined by producer Bob Ezrin and an amazing group of modern day vampires, including Perry Farrell, Dave Grohl, Sir Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Slash, Robbie Krieger, Zak Starkey, Brian Johnson and Kip Winger, recorded tracks by their dead friends and heroes. Also included are two original songs that tell the story of the Vampires, one of which, “Raise The Dead”, has an intro by Sir Christopher Lee, recorded just prior to his death.

Group of rock & roll carousers called themselves the Hollywood Vampires as they crawled the bars of Los Angeles during the dead of night. Alice Cooper was at the forefront, joined by Harry Nilsson, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Keith Moon, and Micky Dolenz - a crew so soused that their tales became legend, even if the specifics of the debauchery were often forgotten. Forty years later, Alice Cooper revived the name Hollywood Vampires when he formed a classic rock supergroup with Joe Perry and Johnny Depp. In the spirit of the original Hollywood Vampires, a bunch of other stars were invited to play on the group's eponymous 2015 album. When it came time to play live gigs in support of the record, Cooper, Perry, and Depp brought in the Guns N' Roses rhythm section of bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Matt Sorum, adding Cooper's bandmember, Tommy Henriksen, as a third guitarist. The Hollywood Vampires is more of a legend than a band. It’s 3 legends and a long list of A-list pals paying homage to the original Hollywood Vampires of the 70s. The album package, an antique book, was created by noted men’s fashion designer and rock fan John Varvatos in his signature vintage style. Alice and Varvatos, both Detroit natives, have been partners in fashion for several years with Alice lending his classic rock style as a brand ambassador. HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES is a collection of rock classics revamped and a couple original songs inspired by the golden days of drunken rock.
