Bad Company- LIVE IN THE UK: BIRMINGHAM- 3CD- 2010- Concert Live- 5060158732654- 700 grn
STRICTLY LIMITED EDITION.
Bad Company was return to the UK for their LIVE IN THE UK Tour. April 2010 saw the original line up reforming, sadly without Boz Burrell who passed away in 2006. Original Bad Company members Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs and Simon Kirke was hit Birmingham’s LG Arena. The band burst upon the rock’n’roll scene in 1973, and was immediately dubbed a super-group by fans and press alike, as its members all came from very successful popular bands: Free (Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke), Mott The Hoople (Mick Ralphs) and King Crimson (Boz Burrell). Bad Company continue to live up to that hype and are one of the strongest successful touring bands. Despite their reputation as one of the most exciting live bands to ever rock an arena, Bad Company never released a live album during its meteoric rise to the top of the charts. While quite a few at best average artists get into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, Bad Company is continually passed over and that is hard to fathom. If you listen to this live album (as well as their "Live At Wembley" and "Live At Manchester") you hear one of the great hard rock bands of all time. On this album, as well as the others mentioned, they are on top of their game with Howard Leese's guitar work, and Lynn Sorensen's solid bass playing in place of the late great Boz Burrell added to the solid foundation put down by Rodgers, Ralphs and Kirke. All these great Bad Company songs catch fire live. Bad Company knows what they are as a band, know what they do well, they don't need a horn section, or extra back-up singers, they just give you stellar no frills rock & roll and any fan should add this album to their collection.

Bad Company made triumphant comeback tours in 2010. Some UK concerts were recorded and the band made ''official bootlegs'' available for purchase after the shows. For the recording and distribution of the CDs, Bad Company partnered with Concert Live (UK). Not to be confused with a "soundboard" recording, these recordings were fully mixed and mastered on the fly and fans were able to buy CDs from the concert within minutes of the last note being played. The CDs were also available by mail order. The mail order ones had set lists printed on the cover - the ones picked up at the show didn't. It's nice, let's say it's fantastic that several live Bad Company shows were finally recorded for the public. Forget the fact for a while that original bassist Boz Burrell is passed away in 2006. This show features 59 year old Paul Rodgers on vocals, 70 year old Mick Ralphs on guitar and 61 year old Simon Kirke on drums and whoever else the band brought in to help them seem to be a bit more "credible". This band always needed a good live album. This a great set from Bad Company. This is the first set from this tour and the band is strong. You won't be dissapointed.
