LET THEM TALK is the debut studio album by English actor and musician Hugh Laurie. The album, which consists of classic blues songs, was released on 9 May 2011 on Warner Bros. Records. Some of the songs are collaborations with well-known artists such as Tom Jones, Irma Thomas and Dr. John. Hugh Laurie plays piano and guitar on the album in addition to providing lead vocals. Kevin Breit plays guitar and Vincent Henry plays saxophones. A glorious celebration of New Orleans blues, LET THEM TALK unites Laurie's musical talent with a very personal selection of standards and lost blues classics performed with his band of renowned musicians and some very special guest stars. Recorded at sessions in Los Angeles and New Orleans, LET THEM TALK sees Laurie on vocals and piano heading a team of musicians whose previous collective credits include work with artists as varied as Greg Allman, Solomon Burke, Robert Plant, kd lang, T-Bone Burnett, Alison Krauss, and John Legend. Together, they interpret and revive songs originally recorded by New Orleans blues legends such as Leadbelly, Robert Johnson, Ray Charles, and Memphis Slim. LET THEM TALK also features collaborations with the "Soul Queen Of New Orleans" Irma Thomas and Sir Tom Jones on the little known "Baby, Please Make A Change." Irma Thomas also leads the vocals on "John Henry," while Laurie's lifelong hero Dr. John provides a momentous collaboration on "After You've Gone." Another legend, the producer, musician, and songwriter Allen Toussaint, contributes horn arrangements throughout.

Hugh Laurie also made several television appearances, including BBC2 programmes The Graham Norton Show and Later... With Jools Holland, and was interviewed on BBC Radio 2's Chris Evans Breakfast Show. LET THEM TALK: SPECIAL EDITION compiles the original much-loved LET THEM TALK album with four new recordings and a live DVD. Three of the four new recordings are songs that were recorded with producer Joe Henry in Los Angeles: the focus track ‘'Hallelujah, I Love Her So’' is Laurie’s interpretation of Ray Charles’ classic 1956 single. ‘'Waiting For A Train'’ was originally written by early country pioneer Jimmie Rodgers and ‘'Crazy Arms'’, a Ralph Mooney and Chuck Seals composition popularised by Ray Price. The fourth new recording is a live version of ‘'You Don’t Know My Mind’' that was recorded in Paris. The DVD includes the PBS program "A Celebration Of New Orleans Blues, " with guest artists Sir Tom Jones, Irma Thomas and Allen Toussaint. Definitely recommend this!
