The Doors- TRANSMISSION IMPOSSIBLE: Legendary Radio Broadcast From The 1960s & 1970s- 3CD Set- 2019-
- Eat To The Beat Production- 823564030166- 700 grn
The title "Transmission Impossible" is probably very apt for this three disc box set, as it seems highly unlikely that any of this was actually broadcast. More likely, the label are seeking to take advantage of the legal grey area around copyright on material broadcast via FM radio. Nevertheless, what we have here holds much interest for fans and collectors.
COMPILATION INCLUDES:
CD1- From A Live FM Broadcast Recorded At The Seattle Center Coliseum, Seattle, WA On 5th June 1970 And From A Live FM Broadcast Recorded At Sankei Hall, Osaka, Japan On 13th January 1966;
CD2- From A Live FM Broadcast Recorded At The Cobo Arena, Detroit, MI On 8th May 1970;
CD3- All Tracks From North American TV Appearances 1967-1969.
3CD Set of classic DOORS broadcast recordings. Both unique and controversial, The Doors remain among the most influential rock acts of the 1960s, largely because of Jim Morrison's lyrics and charismatic but unpredictable stage persona. After Morrison's death in 1971, the remaining members continued as a trio until disbanding in 1973- it s no secret that bereft of their former front-man the group became somewhat pedestrian. This triple disc box set collects together live performances by The Doors from the period during which they were extraordinary in the extreme. Featuring two individual shows from 1970 recorded for live broadcast in Detroit and Seattle, plus a third disc containing performances recorded for television transmission between 1966 and 1969, this set is among the finest collection of live Doors recordings yet released.
NOTES: CD1 typing error on back cover - there is NO tracks 15-28 for an unlikely Osaka concert. It's a copy/paste of the "Beach Boys - Transmission Impossible" back cover.
