ROLLED GOLD is a compilation album by The Rolling Stones released by its former label Decca Records on 15th November 1975. It is a double album was a strong seller over the years. In 2007, the original collection was expanded to 40 songs from the original's 28 tracks. Titled ROLLED GOLD+ released in the UK on 12th November 2007, it is an expanded rerelease of the original 1975 collection. ROLLED GOLD+ set debuted on the UK chart on 18 November 2007, and has sold over 125,000 copies so far according to Music Week. The album is available in double CD, quadruple vinyl LP, and USB flash drive editions. The USB edition was the first album to be released in the UK in this format. ROLLED GOLD+ originally released in 1975 and now reissued with 12 extra tracks. The enormity of the music is beyond question. When ROLLED GOLD was initially released in 1975, there was no shortage of Rolling Stone compilations - hell, there were two others released that year, the useful Decca/London-era rarities compilation Metamorphosis and the slapped-together Rolling Stones Records singles comp Made In The Shade, containing the American singles released on Rolling Stones Records in the early '70s, along with assorted album tracks. Designed for the U.K. market and never released in America, ROLLED GOLD split the difference between the two, rounding up all the big hits they had on Decca/London. It's all here, ever important hit listeners would want to hear plus a generous selection of album cuts including a real rarity in the States, the full, unedited version of "Out Of Time." Arranged essentially in chronological order - ROLLED GOLD+ also serves as a fine historic resource too starting with their earliest efforts like Chuck Berry's "Come On," their ill-suited attempt covering Lennon-McCartney (a song written for Ringo) "I Wanna Be Your Man," then more Chuck Berry's "Carol" which is far better live from Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! The Rolling Stones In Concert. Along with the predictable hits and frequent concert numbers, ROLLED GOLD+ also includes gems like "Litlttle Red Rooster," "Play With Fire," ''Tears Go By," "I'm Free," "We Love You," "2000 Light Years From Home," and "Let It Bleed." This could be a hard album to find, but it's worth the search. For the uninitiated, here's a rock solid dose of Stones to help bring them into the domain of the world's most notorious rock band. For the long-time Stones fans, here it is, a nice two disc concentrated dose of Mick, Keith, Charlie and the lads in all their 1960's glory ... "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction," "Get Off Of My Cloud," "Paint It Black," "Let's Spend The Night Together," "Jumpin' Jack Flash," and "Honky Tonk Women," they're all here and maybe "Ruby Tuesday?"
