THE ROLLING STONES REMASTERS Series.
LOVE YOU LIVE is a double live album by The Rolling Stones, released on 23rd September 1977. It is drawn from Tour of the Americas shows in the US in the summer of 1975, Tour of Europe shows in 1976 and performances from the El Mocambo nightclub concert venue in Toronto in 1977. It is the band's third official full-length live release and is dedicated to the memory of audio engineer Keith Harwood, who died in a car accident shortly before the album's release. It's also the band's first live album with Ronnie Wood. The Rolling Stones make a killing every time the group hit the road. However, despite the group's strong concert pull, the band have never been a major draw due to a tight on-stage reputation. When The Stones hit the boards, Mick and company roll through loose, often sloppy, sets. LOVE YOU LIVE is further proof that The Stones' I-don't-give-a-fuck concert performances can boarder on awful. The twin vinyl set packs a strong collection of songs, each of which are brought down by a typically out-of-tune Stones performance, as well as poor production. In 1998, LOVE YOU LIVE was remastered and reissued by Virgin Records, and in 2009, was re-released with an updated remastering by Universal Records.

Originally issued as a double vinyl album in September 1977, LOVE YOU LIVE captures the band at a time when their Canadian escapades were making headlines around the world. Released a year on from their triumphant appearance at the Knebworth Fair, it made the Top 5 on both sides of the Atlantic. The album includes the acknowledged classics ''Honky Tonk Women'', ''Happy'' and ''You Can't Always Get What You Want'', and the medley ''If You Can't Rock Me/Get Off Of My Cloud'' taped during the band's record-breaking run at London's Earls Court in May 1976. Going back to their Rhythm 'N' Blues roots as if they were at the Crawdaddy Club or Eel Pie Island in the early sixties, they revived ''Mannish Boy'', a song most commonly associated with the father of Chicago blues Muddy Waters, the Willie Dixon composition ''Little Red Rooster'', made famous by Howlin' Wolf and a chart-topper for The Stones in 1964, and two more Chess label favourites, Bo Didley's ''Crackin' Up'' and Chuck Berry's ''Around And Around''. Recorded on the supporting tour for 1976's Black And Blue, the double-album set LOVE YOU LIVE is an live album, capturing The Stones' transition from a lean, lethal Rock & Roll band to accomplished showmen. As showmen, they aren't as compelling as they are when they're rockers, but the show-biz glitz of Mick Jagger's arena rock shtick remains thoroughly entertaining, even when it robs the music of its power. It Is A Must To Have! But.... YOU CAN'T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU WANT!
