THE BEST OF GREAT WHITE 1986-1992 is a compilation album released by the American hard rock band Great White in October 25, 1993. Every song on this is great. This is a great CD for fans of the band to own,it sounds great and all the songs are really cool too. Anything Great White rightly earns the title BEST. This CD covers the Capitol Records period and goes from 1986 to 1992. Obviously being a Capitol release the focus is on their recordings,and some of the really BEST OF, therefore cannot be included. However, you have very good tracks tracks taken from Psycho City, Hooked, Twice Shy, and Once Bitten. There are also ''Face The Day'' and ''All Over Now'' included from Shot In The Dark to make up the 10 tracks included. Shot In The Dark was an album that the band self financed, Capitol had not yet signed them for that album. Nevertheless its all good, in fact its all excellent. One album cannot ever do justice to Great White, there are far too many utterly fantasstic tracks in their long career. However this one makes an attempt and its very good not perhaps the very best though due to a few obvious omissions. A rather skimpy ten-track best-of that overlooks highlights from ...Twice Shy and inexplicably includes only one song from Hooked, a flaccid remake of the Small Faces' fiery "Afterglow." Still, key tracks like "Once Bitten, Twice Shy," "Rock Me," and "House of Broken Love" are here, and casual fans will be satisfied simply by having Great White's best-known songs on one disc.
