REMASTERED NUMBERED LIMITED EDITION.
IN CONCERT is a live double album, recorded by Derek and the Dominos in October 1970 at the Fillmore East and released January 1973. Six of the album's nine tracks were later included on the 1994 album Live At The Fillmore. The three songs not included are "Why Does Love Got to Be So Sad," "Let It Rain," and "Tell The Truth." Live At The Fillmore also includes these songs, although they are from different sets than the ones appearing here.
PERSONNEL: Eric Clapton - lead vocals, electric guitar; Carl Radle - bass guitar; Bobby Whitlock - piano, Hammond organ, backing vocals; Jim Gordon - drums, percussion.
Eric Clapton‘s live guitar work on this “IN CONCERT” CDs is more bluesy and funky in contrast to his heavy blistering playing on live Cream performances. There are a couple of versions of songs here that differ from the IN CONCERT CDs, most notably “Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad.” This CD has live versions of 8 studio songs from Derek And The Dominos. 6 from the Layla album: "Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad," "Key To The Highway," "Have You Ever Loved A Woman," "Tell The Truth," "Nobody Knows You When You're Down And Out," and "Little Wing” and 2 others from the Crossroads box set “Got To Get Better In A Little While” and ”Roll It Over.” Songs with the digital mastering being excellent as Clapton’s great extended guitar solos don’t overshadow and diminish the bass by Carl Radle, drums of Jim Gordon and keyboards and vocals by Bobby Whitlock. Can’t say enough about Clapton’s smooth, clean and fast guitar playing. He proves he is one of the greatest, if not the greatest of all time. So if you are an Eric Clapton fan or just a Derek And The Dominos fan this CD is a must. In 2011, the 40th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition of Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs included a remastered version of IN CONCERT. The remastered double-disc album was also expanded to include bonus tracks on each disc.
