The first of two post-breakup live albums. This is one of the Cream Remasters Series. It is not a bad recording just a very old live recording limited by the original technology. No regrets, no probs. Bit rough? Well, that was sixties concert going for you and it's here. Wonderful! LLIVE CREAM (also called LIVE CREAM, Volume 1) is a live compilation album by the British rock band Cream, released in 1970. This album comprises four live tracks recorded in 1968 and one studio track "Lawdy Mama" from 1967. The instrumental track for "Lawdy Mama" is the same as heard on "Strange Brew" with a different vocal and guitar solo by Eric Clapton.

Great job with the remastered version, cleaner and powerful. LIVE CREAM is best enjoyed loud and in full performance. The power of this band cranked up full volume has its rewards and this offering does so in spades. For a wider spectrum of their live recordings combine this with LIVE CREAM Vol ll, the first side of Goodbye Cream, and the live side of Wheels of Fire, all recorded extremely well for the technology of the time, and you pretty much get the band in classic blistering performance. It's ironic that Clapton sometimes gives himself a bad rap for his extended solos from this period because this is what we liked about them, of course. He might have been limited as an improviser, admittedly by him, but his muscular sonic approach never fails and his innate rhythmic sense rarely slips in front of the powerhouse backing of Bruce and Baker. Psychedelia fueled by the testosterone of the blues, they had a unique mature power for their time.
