Contains Eric Clapton’s First Interview In America In March 1967. Also Features Ginger Baker Interview And Jack Bruce Interview. Interview disc from the archives of Don Paulsen who was the editor of Hit Parade magazine and a photo/journalist for Rolling Stone in the 60's. Includes previously unpublished photos. Badly titled as unless you take note of the track listing it is easy to overlook, (in our excitement), the fact the CD is just the spoken word and no music from our heroes. However, the CD inserts and booklet make this abundantly plain and, coupled with this review, (the first, believe it or not?), you will now be aware of what you're getting for your money, and it's hardly going to break the Bank, is it! The interviews with Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce are, as they say, from Cream's first American tour; and the sounds in the background, of instruments being tuned, groupies giggling and chattering and so on there are no points scored for realising the interviews were conducted in a backstage dressing room. The voice of the interviewer is sometimes not that easily heard as he has the microphone in the direction of the subject, where indeed it should be; and B, B & C's comments are clearly audible throughout. For the Cream enthusiast and completist only, methinks, rare a breed as we are becoming these days, but great to hear B, B & C talking about the infancy of their career's with no knowlkedge whatsoever about the phenomenal impact they will later make, shaking the rock world to the very core with their music. Clapton, in particular, waxes lyrical about a 'new' guitarist he's seen and is friends with on the London scene, an American by the name of Jimi Hendrix. Nostalgia! Ah, nostalgia!
