SWEDEN ROCKS is a 2008 live album by the American hard rock guitarist Ted Nugent, recorded at the Sweden Rock Festival in 2006. Album was released on 13th May 2008. It was also released at the same time as a live DVD. Bassist Barry Sparks would depart Nugent's band shortly after, at which time Greg Smith took over. This performance was a rare occasion where Nugent used his white Gibson Byrdland, affectionately named the Great White Buffalo, for songs other than GWB. Recorded in 2006, SWEDEN ROCKS finds the Motor City Madman himself, Ted Nugent, heading to Sweden to bring his no-holds-barred hard rock to the good people of Europe at the Sweden Rocks Festival. Delivering a typically fiery performance, Nugent rips through classics like "Free For All," "Cat Scratch Fever," and "Stranglehold," and even though his voice can't quite hit the heights that it could in decades past, it's clear that he's still capable of putting on a ripper of a live show.

Ted and his funk brothers provided the crowd to an hour and half set that was captured on film to aid in the creation of coinciding DVD. This Ted Nugent concert video captures the Motor City Madman performing over a dozen of his classic tunes including "Wango Tango," "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang," "Cat Scratch Fever," and "Great White Buffalo." Just when you thought he might be slowing down a bit, Nuge decides to travel to Sweden of all places to showcase his animal magnetism and his Motor City Madman mystique onstage with his Gibson Byrdland. Hailing from Michigan and Texas (his second home), he is one of the true Detroit Rockers left that can still bring it with the best of ‘em as Sweden witnessed first hand on June 10, 2006 at the Sweden Rock Festival. He simply put on a blazing performance with an exceptional ensemble of musicians: none other than Mick Brown and Barry Sparks. It is mind boggling how at 59 years of age this guy has more energy than most people half his age and can run circles around most individuals. Not only does “Nuge” tour and record new music from time to time, he also has time for some of his favorite personal hobbies. He authors several newspapers and magazines, is an avid outdoorsman and hunter, is a political activist and controversial spokesman on many topics including the Constitution, and will debate anyone on just about any topic. He has the balls to say what is on his mind without fear of being politically correct. God bless him! It must be all that clean living he has talked about all these years or that fresh game he loves to hunt and eat — yeah that’s right, no booze or drugs ever. Not too many bands can claim fame to that, now, can they!
