THE GROOVE CUBED is the third studio album by American jazz and funk group Rock Candy Funk Party. It was released on 20th October 2017 through J&R Adventures. The album features Ty Taylor from Vintage Trouble and Mahalia Barnes as guest vocalists. Rock Candy Funk Party's chemistry is in full reaction mode with their album, THE GROOVE CUBED. Bonamassa plays short melodic phrases against DeJesus' and Neto's syncopated chords, relaxes the beat and creates a swirling space environment. Bonamassa's solo is full of excitement and in the pocket playing. His lines are a perfect combination of blues, rock, jazz and funk. Mahalia Barnes vocals are strong and full of the bluesy controlled screams and growls. She certainly does the tune justice. Bergman's drumming is clean and always in good taste. His beat is wide, and his fills are always tasteful. Rock Candy Funk Party shakes things up by adding two powerhouse singers. It to take the listener on journey that explores the use of different styles of music from different eras and break some rules. This album is fun and exciting while shattering genre defining stigmas, all while taking elements from the past as well as from contemporary music.
