Eric Sardinas, raised in Florida but native to Los Angeles, is a slide virtuoso who wrests timeless, majestic blues rock from his dobro guitar. Sardina's spectrum ranges from brisk acoustic blues and boogies to powerful rock, and the limitation to the classic trio formation offers a lot of compositional space, which he uses by incorporating stylistic devices that transcend genre boundaries.

The Crossroads Festival is Germany very own festival and therefore a matter of the heart at Rockpalast. Twice a year - in spring and autumn - Germany invite you to the Harmonie in Bonn to spend four evenings with great music. This time (2008) with Eric Sardinas, Monte Montgomery, Beasts Of Bourbon, The BellRays, Blue Cheer, Boss Martians, Kristofer Åström & Rainaways, HushPuppies. Due to the fact that the process of creating a video turned out to be much more time-consuming and costly than before, the concert turned out to be not so long (about 80 minutes). The German public warmly enough accepts the power trio of Sardinas, although sometimes there is a suspicion: the Bundes are slightly confused by the unusual attack. Not only Eric himself, but also the bass player and the drummer are trying to outwardly conform to the image of robbers (such as "pirates of the Caribbean"). Although their clothes came out of a fashion boutique rather than found in a garbage dump. The "villain-bassist" in one of the episodes of the performance begins to play his guitar with drumsticks! As for the repertoire of the concert, there are songs from all albums, but it is not limited to numbers from the albums, there are also purely concert ones. Eric Sardinas invariably plays the metal cone-resonator DOBRO guitar. Initially, this guitar was invented by gypsy emigrants who moved to America from Yugoslavia at the beginning of the last century. DOBRO is really “Good”, i.e. OK. Having adopted such an instrument, Sardinas began to differ from numerous power trios. Well, and a colorful image! The right word, there is something to see. In addition, the shooting itself is fundamentally different from the previous Rockpalast gig videos: several cameras filmed the band in action, endlessly changing angles and points. It's not just "what was filmed - that's what you rejoice about." Here the director then worked with the editing: it turned out to be an extremely dynamic mini-film with rich colors (have you seen Scorsese's tape about the Rolling Stones concert? - that's about the same thing). Cool. And in music - the same (he is not a jester, he is a brilliant musician). Looks like we underestimated Sardinas. This DVD will help you literally open your eyes to it.
