LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD PALLADIUM, DECEMBER 15, 1988 is a live album by Keith Richards and was released on 10th December 1991, in the United States and 24th February 1992, in the United Kingdom. Recorded during a brief American tour, the only leg of shows, in support of Talk Is Cheap in late 1988, Richards is supported by a set of musicians and friends dubbed The X-Pensive Winos. The Winos included Waddy Wachtel, Steve Jordan, Charley Drayton, Ivan Neville, and Sarah Dash. Longtime Rolling Stones contributor Bobby Keys also plays saxophone. Keith Richards' set during the tour was composed primarily of material from his solo debut album – he played nine of the eleven songs from the record – and also included many of his Rolling Stones lead vocal appearances, with "Too Rude", "Happy", and "Connection", along with "Time Is On My Side" featuring Sarah Dash on lead vocals. "Before They Make Me Run" and "Little T&A" turned up on bootlegs such as L.A. Connection. Live at the Hollywood Palladium, December 15, 1988 was recorded, videotaped, and ultimately released as an album at the suggestion of Jane Rose, Richards tenured manager. Officially credited as executive producer, she encouraged Richards to consider the official release after showing the reluctant star bootlegs of inferior audio quality.[4] The album released in North America during the Christmas season, in the wake of The Stones live album Flashpoint, and before the recording of Richards' solo album Main Offender.

Penultimate show from Keith Richards first U.S. tour with the X-Pensive Winos. The concert was part of a 12-city tour that followed their release of Talk Is Cheap. Their live set featured performances of Rolling Stones songs, alongside Richards’ solo tracks, including “Take It So Hard” and “Make No Mistake.” Recorded on December 15, 1988, during the tour for Talk Is Cheap, LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD PALLADIUM is a loose, groove-laden affair, featuring the best from Keith Richards' first solo album as well as some Stones classics - mostly tunes he took lead vocals on. Opening with "Take It So Hard," the first thing that hits the listener is the lack of the gloss that was probably the only drawback to Talk Is Cheap, which is a very good thing, because while the album was still leaps and bounds more real than, say, Dirty Work, this live collection is loose without ever getting away from the band, and has an organic feel not present in The Stones' work since the early '70s. Rockers like "Whip It Up" and "Struggle" swagger, while Sarah Dash shines on "Make No Mistake" and "Time Is On My Side." Richards even manages to get into the reggae groove without sounding too clichéd on "Too Rude." LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD PALLADIUM, DECEMBER 15, 1988 is a solid live album that stands head and shoulders above most of The Stones' live records, and is easily a must-have for any serious Rolling Stones or Keith Richards fan.
