Buddy Miles is one of the biggest names in Progressive Rock. Mainly known for his participation in Jimi Hendrix's Band Of Gypsys as drummer and singer, in 1968 he recorded ''Rainy Day, Dream Away'', ''Still Raining, Still Dreaming'' which appeared on Jimi's last album Electric Ladyland. George "Buddy" Miles, born on 5th September 1947 in Omaha, Nebraska and died on 26th February 2008 in Austin, Texas, is an American musician and singer. He played in various groups such as Santana, John McLaughlin, The Electric Flag, Muddy Waters, Wilson Pickett, Bootsy Collins and produced seventeen albums under his name. He played Blues, Funk, Soul and Progressive Rock.

This 2008 release by former Band Of Gypsy's drummer Buddy Miles is, quite simply, one of the great lost treasures of soul-inspired rock music. From the funky drive of the "Changes" track to Miles' plaintive singing on Jimi Hendrix' "Red House" and "Voodoo Child", the album is filled with the best qualities of both genres. Not only does Miles prove himself to be a great interpreter of songs, but with the track "Changes" and "Bad Bad Misses", he demonstrates his ability to write solid material on his own. Complemented by The Memphis Horns, Miles' songs soar and swing as hard as any release, and his voice, underutilized when he played with The Electric Flag and Jimi Hendrix, combines the nuance of soul singing with the grit of rock. CHANGES was released on 4th April 2008 by Charly Films. DVD features two incredible concerts by Buddy Miles and company filmed at Switzerland's New Morning Rock Heroes Festival in 1995 and 1996. He re-works in his own distinctive style a selection of rock and pop classics from the Sixties and Seventies. CHANGES is definitely worth the extra effort to try to locate.
