IN CONCERT: MERCHANTS OF COOL is a live album and DVD by English hard rock band Bad Company. It was recorded principally at The Paramount Theater, Denver, Colorado and The Grove of Anaheim, Anaheim, California, in January 2002 and was released on 21st May 2002. It features hits from both Bad Company and precursor band Free as well as new track, "Joe Fabulous". It is their only album not to feature guitarist Mick Ralphs. Longtime session guitarist Dave “Bucket” Colwell, who had previously appeared on the Here Comes Trouble album, plays in Mick’s place. Additionally, Jaz Lochrie plays bass instead of Boz Burrell. The band covers two songs from The Beatles, "Ticket To Ride" and "I Feel Fine", as well as one from Paul Rodgers' and Simon Kirke's former band Free, "All Right Now". Oddly enough, on this 2002 live recording by Bad Company, vocalist Paul Rodgers sounds younger than he ever has on record. And no, that's not necessarily a good thing. Bad Company's original members number two: Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke, bassist Jaz Lochrie and guitarist Dave Colwell have replaced Boz Burrell and Mick Ralphs, who were smart enough to bail after the obligatory reunion tour that resulted in a previous live album. True enough, Bad Company was once able to inspire legions of rock fans with their melodic, memorable, tough, and lean bluesy paeans to lovers, losers, gamblers, and ramblers, and one would hope that even with a new lineup some of that inspiration and fire remained.

One of the great classic rock bands of the 1970s, Bad Company are still going strong in the new millennium, and this concert video captures their lineup during two dates recorded in January 2002 on the group's United States Tour. IN CONCERT: MERCHANTS OF COOLts of Cool features fifteen songs, including "Bad Company", "Feel Like Makin' Love", "Burnin' Sky", "Movin' On", "Can't Get Enough" and "Run With The Pack". This package also includes a new studio video for the song "Joe Fabulous" and a performance of "Wishing Well", which features Bad Company performing with Slash and Neal Schon. Paul Rodgers in top form, and backed by a inspired band, this concert really rocks. With all the hits, two new songs, and some of our personal favorites, this is a necessary reminder for those of us that have forgotten about the greatness of Bad Company. You guys rock!
