When the Beatles catalog was first issued on CD in the '80s, an attempt was made to standardize the releases, which often varied wildly in content internationally, by using their original British format. But this confounded many Fabs fans in the U.S. who now found CDs with track listings that often differed dramatically from their original American LPs. More maddening, the initial four releases were only available in not-so-glorious mono mixes. This 8CD collection of the band's 1964-1965 American album releases finally addresses those concerns. This albums have been digitally prepared from Capitol's vintage album masters and presented in both the original stereo and mono mixes.

THE CAPITOL ALBUMS Vol.1 is a compilation comprising The Beatles' 1964 American Capitol Records releases. The set, which features the first official stereo versions of a number of tracks on CD, was released on 15th November 2004. The CDs were mastered from submaster tapes from the Capitol Records vaults, with added reverb to several tracks and simulated stereo ("fake stereo") on some mono tracks. The box was certified with Gold and Platinum awards on 17th December 2004.
Each Album Comes In A Cardboard Sleeve With Original Album Cover Artwork And Housed In A Foldout Card Box. Includes 52 Page Collector’s Book With Rare Photos. All Items Presented In A One-Side-Closed Cardboard Slipcase (250 mm x 130 mm x 20 mm) With Hype Sticker On Front.

THE CAPITOL ALBUMS Vol.2 is a box set compilation composed of The Beatles' 1965 American Capitol Records releases. The set, which contains stereo and mono versions of all 92 tracks was released on 11th April 2006. With all of the tracks on The Early Beatles and many of the tracks on Beatles VI being released in stereo on compact disc for the first time. Differences between the stereo and mono mixes are one of the main draws for collectors. As with THE CAPITOL ALBUMS Vol.1, the CDs did not contain the original George Martin mixes released in Britain in the 1960s. Instead, the CDs were mastered from tapes with added reverb to several tracks and simulated stereo on some mono tracks. THE CAPITOL ALBUMS Vol.2 was awarded a Gold on 19th May 2006.
