Johnny Winter- LIVE AT THE TEXAS OPRY HOUSE- CD- 2015- Gonzo Multimedia- 5060230866901- 400 grn
This recording shows Johnny Winter him at the top of his game in 1978 playing to an audience from his own home state. Fantastic! Johnny Winter, the albino blues guitarist from Texas, is best known for his high-energy blues-rock albums and live performances in the late 1960s and 1970s. The LIVE AT THE TEXAS OPRY HOUSE is also available as “A History of the Blues” which is another “legal but non official” release . This record is edited by Thunderbolt Records – TKO Magnum Music Limited under the reference CDTB 185 . The tracklisting of this record is different and complementary from the one of the “History of the Blues” bootleg, but this is apparently the same show even if the concert dates mentioned on both records are different (informations on the backcover are also full of mistakes). Also some songs fade in and out like “Hideaway” which has about 1 mn missing in the beginning and which lasts after less than 2 mn! But anyway this is an interesting record.
