GREATEST VIDEO HITS 1 was the first Queen video collection on DVD. Most of the content was released previously on VHS and the long defunct CED Videodisc format as Greatest Flix in 1981. It was released on 14th October 2002, and included video hits of the band between 1973 and 1981. The second disc also contains some extras, such as a documentary about "Bohemian Rhapsody" called Inside The Rhapsody and a photo gallery. A Flames version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" is available. You haven't heard Queen's greatest hits until you've experienced them in surround sound on GREATEST VIDEO HITS 1. Disc One includes sixteen of Queen's most popular singles, restored and remixed in 5.1-channel Dolby Digital and DTS. Reformatted for widescreen TVs, Queen's early videos are visually basic, but they effectively chronicle the group's musical and stylistic evolution, and "Bicycle Race" includes previously unseen footage of an all-nude female bicycle race. Optional commentary is provided for all videos by guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor, with archival quotes from the late Freddie Mercury and bassist John Deacon. Disc Two, while not remixed, features six excellent videos, including the previously unseen "Liar", and a hidden, alternate-edit video of "Bohemian Rhapsody" originally seen on Britain's Top Of The Pops and accessible by entering "Title 10, Chapter 1" on your DVD remote. "Bohemian Rhapsody" is the obvious highlight of both discs, and its history is thoroughly explored, including Brian May's fascinating deconstruction of the song's original studio recording tracks.

As the title says, these are their greatest video hits, actually refering to their best songs so you might probably know the majority of the songs included here, the first part is a bunch of sixteen songs, memorable videos from songs such as "We Will Rock You", "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Bycicle Race", "Killer Queen" or "Flash" can be found here, if you like the songs you will probably enjoy a lot their videos. The second part is another bunch but only of six songs/videos having the title of "extra tracks", "Now I'm Here", "Love Of My Life" and another version of "We Will Rock You" can give you a moment of fun. This is a collection from their early days who was a little better than later days. It starts with their best song ever the "Bohemian Rhapsody" from their masterpiece album. Your always amazed by that opera style multi-part vocals. It took a week to do the surround work on this song alone. This surround DTS sound is spectacular with vocals and guitars spread out in the back left and right. Queen still has a unique singer and guitar player giving an overall sound that can't be matched. The second disk GREATEST VIDEO HITS 1 in stereo with live performances. This DVD is pretty nice for people who like Queen, their hits and like to have a moment of relaxation and fun, you can sing, you can laugh whatever you want. Enjoy it! You'll have enjoyed enough this one to buy the Greatest Video Hits 2.
